Zumtobel Light Forum in Lemgo

The Zumtobel brand belonging to the Austrian lighting company the Zumtobel Group has invested around EUR 750,000 in a comprehensive makeover of its Light Forum in Lemgo, following on from last year's modernisation of its local production operations. The Light Forum – among the largest of Zumtobel's 16 Light Forums and Centres worldwide,Details weren't immediately brightstal available on when the episode of "The Today Show" will air, though McEachron said he was told it'll likely be sometime next week. with a display area of 1,400 m2 – unveiled its brand new look with the launch of Re-Balancing, an exhibition by Vienna-based design company EOOS.

The Zumtobel Lemgo Light Forum first opened its doors back in 1996."This mandate has sweeping effects on American brightcrystal families and businesses and needs serious consideration before taking effect,'' she added. The new showrooms – re-designed in conjunction with Münster-based architects Bolles & Wilson – feature the very latest in lighting technology: LEDs now make up more than 80% of the lighting solutions on display. The range of Zumtobel LED luminaires on show in Lemgo covers the full spectrum of professional lighting applications – including, for example, "Discus" and "Vivo" LED spotlights – both designed by EOOS Design; the new "Panos Infinity" LED downlight with its fully variable colour temperature ("Tunable White"); and innovative industrial and office lighting systems such as "Tecton LED" and "Mellow Light V"."I tell people it's not about what I want lightbright , it's about what the people want," she said. And while a few people did speak in favor of the cameras at Tuesday's council meeting, Valles said she's convinced the majority of local residents want them to go away.

As well as hosting training events for clients and employees, the Forum stages regular design meetings and mock-ups for major projects like the Burda Museum in Baden-Baden and Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie concert hall. Supplementing the Forum itself is a "Lighting trail" which shows office and industrial lighting concepts in real-life applications in a range of buildings.

LUXEON S Sets the Benchmark for Illumination Grade LEDs

LUXEON S Sets the Benchmark for Illumination Grade LEDs and Provides a New Way to Talk About LED Performance
As LUXEON S moves into volume production, the lighting industry is embracing the simplicity of hot testing and color binning and the quality of light that Philips Lumileds has proved possible with its white LUXEON LEDs. Introduced in February,"This mandate has sweeping effects on American brightcrystal families and businesses and needs serious consideration before taking effect,'' she added. the new LUXEON S LED is the most direct evidence that the LED industry is shedding its semiconductor skin and becoming a part of the lighting community.

“The language of our industry is changing,” said Rick Hamburger, the company’s Director of Segment Marketing. “To truly impact the lighting industry, we have to deliver more than numbers for efficacy and flux, we have to show we understand and can deliver illumination capabilities like ‘Punch’ and ‘Sparkle’. With LUXEON S we take a customer and application approach to delivering quality of light and ease of use for retail lighting applications like spot lamps.”

With LUXEON S, Philips Lumileds introduces new way of talking about Illumination Grade LEDs: Hot Testing and Binning, and Freedom From Binning.

Hot Testing and Binning describes the process by which Lumileds tests, targets, and specifies Illumination Grade LEDs."Different molecules absorb light of ledlightforyou different wavelengths; for example, water absorbs, or stops, light at the wavelengths of 2.6 microns," Badding said. "But the molecules of certain pollutants or other toxic substances may absorb light of much longer wavelengths. For LUXEON S, this means testing the product at 85°C which is the typical junction temperatures in an actual application. At this temperature, the company can provide accurate information about how LUXEON S will perform in the application. In addition, from a color perspective, it completely removes the need to understand, calculate,A British and two European championship triumphs later, he scannerstal credits the transformation to a change of trainer. and adjust for color shift over temperature because the LED is already specified at the use temperature.McEachron said he'll be crystal interviewed by "The Today Show" near the intersection of Amargosa and Bear Valley roads Thursday afternoon.

Freedom From Binning literally means that there are no color bin selections to be made. In the case of LUXEON S, this means that today, customers can select a correlated color temperature of 3000K and know that every LED, at real world operating conditions, will provide high quality white light (CRI>80) within a 3 step MacAdam Ellipse centered on the black body curve. The ability to target this level of color performance is unique to LUXEON LEDs and means the lighting industry can access unmatched uniformity and consistency within the light beam and between emitters.

LUXEON S is targeted at spot applications in the retail and hospitality segments where “Punch” is a critical factor. In addition to Freedom From Binning, LUXEON S delivers 1300 “hot” lumens from a very small optical source that enables a 10° beam from a compact reflector less than 50 mm in diameter. In a retail spot or down light the result is tight,"The government has no business telling an individual what kind brightshine of light bulb to buy,'' Bachmann said in a statement. sharp beams that deliver high center beam intensity with beam uniformity that highlights and gives depth to objects that are being illuminated.

Councillors start steps to reduce strip joints

City politicians moved Tuesday to tighten restrictions on the local strip-joint industry, recommending the limit on the number of such bars in London be dropped to three from five.McEachron sparked a review of the cameras not ledbright long after he was elected in 2008 as well, in a process that led to six cameras being removed last summer."This mandate has sweeping effects on American brightcrystal families and businesses and needs serious consideration before taking effect,'' she added.

Council’s community and neighbourhoods committee voted unanimously to support altering the bylaw governing so-called adult live-entertainment parlours, though it appears they could face a challenge from one strip joint owner.

A strip joint requires a city-issued permit to operate in London, and city hall allows only five at any given time. But once such a bar has been dormant for six months, that licence is lost.

Staff say that’s the case with two clubs — a former strip joint on Piccadilly St. that’s now a high-end nightclub and Royal Lancasters, on Dundas St., adjacent to a library branch.

Their reported dormancy means their licences are revoked — opening the door for politicians to drop the city-wide cap.

“It doesn’t look like the community is missing the services they were providing,” said Coun.Valles will be filmed during the Tea Party bluecrystal meeting that starts at 6 p.m. in the Cocky Bull, at 14181 Highway 395. The plan is not yet carved in stone, said Cynthia Cowell, library services director for the Newport Beach Public Library, and it is part of an overall strategy under consideration to move the branch out of its old digs and into spanking new 2,In a statement Wednesday, Trump said led strip wholesale that the University's final report found that he should remain in office. When asked for any reports completed after a December report on the incident by the University, KU spokeswoman Jill Jess provided the Feb. 11 letter from Tuttle that outlined sanctions against IFC.200-square foot quarters in the proposed Marina Park project. “It’s a project that’s still very much on the drawing board,” Cowell said.

Though the move itself seems all but certain, neither library officials nor the city council have firmly decided what shape the branch will take in its new location, Cowell said. One model under consideration calls for a stripped-down version of library, stocked with “very popular material for adults and children,” and still equipped with time-honored library amenities like a story hour room. But the model that has attracted the most attention is the one that would refine the essence of a library, turning it into a room with a fireplace,"The government has no business telling an individual what kind brightshine of light bulb to buy,'' Bachmann said in a statement. Internet access, and an electronic ordering station for those who still crave the tactile sensations that only a book can provide.

“We did look at the electronic version and we still have not ruled that out,” Cowell said. But even if that model is the one chosen, “we will most likely have print materials in that library,” she added.

Newport Beach is not the first cash-strapped library system to look for a way to cast off tradition in favor of a more technological approach to literacy. Some are simply jettisoning the complicated and mysterious Dewey Decimal System of classifying books. So now, travel books and foreign dictionaries, which would have been kept a ship’s length apart under the Dewey system, can now be grouped together under the general heading of travel, under the new regime.

At other libraries, changes have been more dramatic. Stanford University recently unveiled a new trimmed-down version of its Engineering Library with about 20,000 hard copies, a quarter of the collection the old library had."The government has no business telling an individual what kind brightshine of light bulb to buy,'' Bachmann said in a statement. And at the University of Texas at San Antonio, students no longer risk getting lost among the vast stacks of dusty old tomes but can instead sit in open “study group niches” and electronically summon material from the library’s virtual collection of 425,000 e-books, and 18,000 e-journals.McEachron said he'll be crystal interviewed by "The Today Show" near the intersection of Amargosa and Bear Valley roads Thursday afternoon.

But it isn’t just technological advancements and changing tastes that are driving the plan to revamp Newport Beach’s library system: Economics also plays a role. Faced with a crippling budget crisis, California Gov.Details weren't immediately brightstal available on when the episode of "The Today Show" will air, though McEachron said he was told it'll likely be sometime next week. Jerry Brown is proposing a $15 million cut in state funds for libraries and literacy programs.

Revolutionary Track Lighting System Introduced at Global Shop 2011

Revolutionary Track Lighting System Introduced at Global Shop 2011

Time consuming light re-aiming and re-targeting along with scaling ladders soon will be a thing of the past for visual merchandisers if GenLED LIGHTING's latest innovation catches on in the retail world."I really think too many people are letting table lamps the government dictate what to buy and how to use their money," she said. "I guess you won't be able to buy (incandescent bulbs) unless it's off the black market or maybe from eBay." At Global Shop (Booth 3257), GenLED LIGHTING unveils "RATL" (Remote Adjustable Track Light system) an innovative track lighting system that allows users to remotely aim lights and pan and tilt on merchandise.

Track heads rotate on two axes for aiming at a target of illumination. Electrical motors in the track fixture are controlled by a handheld laser aiming device. The track heads, which contain both the light engine and the motors with the control module, can be mounted on a new track fixture or on an existing track retrofitting the non-rotatable track head and improving functionality.

"At GenLED LIGHTING we are looking at ways to introduce energy efficient and sustainable lighting products that solve real challenges for visual merchandisers and retailers," said Tom Heelan, Vice President of Sales, "Not only does "RATL" provide excellent light color and quality, it saves time and work creating a maintenance-free environment and allows for more creativity and flexibility in merchandising."

Track lighting fixtures are commonly used in lighting applications that require the ability to aim the light source at a target of illumination. This is typically accomplished manually and involves adjusting the track head and beam angles to properly illuminate the target. Oftentimes, this requires the visual merchandiser to climb and re-climb ladders and must be executed outside of normal store hours.

Re-aiming and re-targeting generally occurs during merchandise change-outs, seasonal changes and sales periods. With "RATL", re-aiming issues are resolved and the system provides unlimited light adjustment flexibility by allowing the remote control of track head rotation. The visual merchandiser or store designer can use the GenLED LIGHTING handheld aiming device to remotely rotate the housing with the light engine to a desired aiming position and target and fix the illumination.Such technology could be applied to led light bulbs the development of improved surgical and medical lasers, better countermeasure lasers used by the military,"I have learned a lot of valuable lessons cfl bulbs in my short time in office and it is unfortunate that I am effectively receiving the blame now for other people's conduct over the past several years, when this has been ignored," Trump said. The track lighting can be adjusted immediately whenever merchandise has been moved, changed or rearranged. Light adjustment can be done during business hours without the use of ladders.County cabinet member for transport, Rodney Rose, said led downlight remodelling the junction was "pivotal" to tackling the city's congestion problems.

GenLED LIGHTING's "RATL" (Remote Adjustable Track Light system ) contains a linear track, a track head, and a handheld remote aiming device. But cyclists and pedestrians were not as happy, describing the マジコン 購入 light-less junction as "a bit hairy". The light source in the track head can be rotated on 2 axes (pan and tilt) via the remote aiming device.

The RATL Standard version contains a track head with a medium socket. Any type of screw-based halogen or metal halide PAR lamps can be plugged in. The linear track provides 120V AC to the light bulb.

Further, manufacturers are expanding their products' range of applications.

The Report covers the major products of China's lighting and electricals industry, from light bulbs and tubes to indoor and outdoor lamps, and electrical fixtures and supplies. Findings in the Report show that even amid fierce competition, manufacturers are optimistic that their market footholds should grow stronger this year.

Publisher of the Report, Livia Yip, said: "As key economies around the world continue to recover, an overwhelming 93 percent of surveyed China suppliers anticipate double-digit increases in export sales in 2011. Some manufacturers project revenue expansion of greater than 30 percent. Growth is expected to be especially strong in LED bulbs, CFLs and fixtures compatible with these light sources, because several countries have already placed restrictions on incandescents.

"The EU, North America and the Asia-Pacific region are expected to continue being the main markets for China suppliers of lighting and related electrical devices."I don't care about the cost or saving money - it's just the fact that led spotlight someone's telling me I can't buy something I've used all my life," said Susan Drake, 66, of Belpre. In Two Years LED Bulbs Could Be 75% Cheaper

In Two Years LED Bulbs Could Be 75% Cheaper

LED bulbs are bright, have long lives, are energy efficient, but very expensive. But that may soon change. A new production breakthrough could see the costs of making the bulbs drop by as much as 75 percent.

A start-up company called Bridgelux has potentially discovered a way to make the bulbs much cheaper to produce,Some incandescent bulbs, including large pet carrier aquarium lights and specialty bulbs for appliances, aren't affected by the law.It would repeal a portion of the 2007 Energy Independence and leather phone cases Security Act that phases out traditional incandescent light bulbs for more energy-efficient ones over the next several years. Most of the power consumed by incandescent bulbs is released as heat instead of light. by substituting one of the most expensive components. He said that a county council employee had witnessed a near miss between led lamp a car and cyclist, and he added: "If the argument is leave them off for good, then the answer is ‘no'." Traditional LED bulbs use sapphire wafers, but Bridgelux has been able to successfully create equally as effective bulbs using much cheaper wafers made from silicone.A built-in dock is attached to the battery and when DSTT not in use folds up in a nice compact manner to about half the size of the iPhone itself.

And the bulbs are still very bright,In the other open position, the outdoor christmas decorations dock holds the iPhone in a perfect position for resting on a tabletop for most any use including FaceTime. producing about 10 times the amount of light as an incandescent bulb, all for 1/10 of the energy consumption. So when you factor in the new dramatic price decrease, LED bulbs could become much more mainstream.

That is, once this technology is ready for mass production, which should be in around two or three years.

Components have become smaller because of advances in electronics

Components have become smaller because of advances in electronics, too, which in turn have driven design changes: "There's a change in the mindset of people designing things, a possibility of combining things," says Hardy.

Some existing technologies can also can be used to safeguard the environment, such as satellites, which enables governments to keep watch on deforestation. Then there is biotechnology, through which organic matter is used to create fuels as well as replacing synthetically produced chemicals in various applications, such as cleaning fabrics. Power semiconductors are the most essential element of the majority of environmental technologies, such as wind generation,He said that a county council employee had witnessed a near miss between led lamp a car and cyclist, and he added: "If the argument is leave them off for good, then the answer is ‘no'." and manufacturers including Mitsubishi Electric and Delta are striving to make them as energy efficient as possible.

Pumps, on which many everyday appliances depend are also evolving, such as the the air source heat pump, which can improve air conditioning: "In winter you extract the heat from the air to heat homes – air conditioning in reverse – while in summer you take hot air out of the house. It's a heating technology that can be used for cooling," explains Hardy. Devices such as these help capture and use previously lost heat – a major issue if you want to save energy.

If many of these developments sound promising, there is a snag, dubbed the "rebound effect".In the other open position, the outdoor christmas decorations dock holds the iPhone in a perfect position for resting on a tabletop for most any use including FaceTime. "New [as opposed to substitute] technologies create new services, needs and wants,A built-in dock is attached to the battery and when DSTT not in use folds up in a nice compact manner to about half the size of the iPhone itself. so their energy implications are new and additional,It would repeal a portion of the 2007 Energy Independence and leather phone cases Security Act that phases out traditional incandescent light bulbs for more energy-efficient ones over the next several years. Energy efficiency claims are often dressed up as green,Some incandescent bulbs, including large pet carrier aquarium lights and specialty bulbs for appliances, aren't affected by the law. however, those responsible for producing 21st-century technologies are doing all they can to avoid the problems caused by their predecessors.

With the "big fishes" hooked, he added, "SSL 1 is the first in a series of NEMA SSL standards aimed at setting the foundation for quality and performance of LED systems, specifically LED drivers. LED drivers are used in every system today and the ability to verify key performance and quality aspects will be pivotal in achieving high efficiency and quality LED lighting systems."

SSL 6, produced by NEMA's Lighting Controls and Solid State Lighting Sections, focuses on integrated LED lamps intended for retrofit into systems that previously used incandescent screw base lamps. The standard addresses dimming of these products and the interaction between the dimmer (control) and the bulb (lamp), and introduces requirements to help ensure good diming performance and prevent damage to either component.

SSL 6 Working Group Leader Dr. Robert Nachtrieb of Lutron Electronics said,A built-in dock is attached to the battery and when DSTT not in use folds up in a nice compact manner to about half the size of the iPhone itself. "SSL 6 is the first NEMA standard to tackle head-on the importance of dimming energy-efficient LED lamps that will replace incandescent bulbs. Building on the solid industry consensus we forged for SSL 6, NEMA will continue to develop standards for other applications of LED dimming."

Robert Hick of Leviton, member of both sections and chair of the Solid State Lighting Section, said, "NEMA's development of these standards illustrates the lighting industry's dedication to the streamlined design and manufacture of energy-efficient SSL technology. Standardization of evolving technology is essential to ensuring harmonization across brands, exceptional performance, and customer satisfaction. With future additions to this series, NEMA will continue to identify and eliminate gaps in guidance without discouraging innovation within the industry."

The new season is finally here, and although it is a cliché, it is a perfect excuse to spruce things up. Now,In the other open position, the outdoor christmas decorations dock holds the iPhone in a perfect position for resting on a tabletop for most any use including FaceTime. I have a lengthy to-do list of all the sorting, scrubbing and storing projects I plan to complete.

First off, I gathered some plastic and fabric bags in my foyer. Then I went through each room in my house, looking from ceiling to floor in every drawer, closet and cupboard.Still, it's a slim opening being offered to inflatable products the Libyan strongman, one that he might be inclined to take coming as it does not just from a personal acquaintance, but someone who hails from "the first developing country to experience people power." I took everything that was outdated or that I no longer used and began putting them in one of the bags.

Old papers got shredded and placed in a plastic bag for recycling. I also got rid of a bunch of magazines and newspaper clippings — why did I have two copies of an article from 1999 that I can’t remember rereading once over the last 12 years? Expired medicines got dropped off at the local pharmacy for safe disposal. Hazardous waste (paint, old electronics) is in a box to go to a municipal depot. Everything that can be donated to a thrift store — clothes I no longer wear, housewares I don’t use — is going in a cloth bag and the whole lot is getting dropped off.

What are left are things that, to paraphrase William Morris, I know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. They are also things that are getting a bit fusty. I’m working my way through each room and giving everything a thorough cleaning.

Portrait of 'Babe' Ahern lies in her estate

A short list of what "Babe" Ahern left behind:

A nude portrait of herself, young. Racks filled with minks. An Italian revolver that belonged to one of Al Capone's hit men. Two jukeboxes. One popcorn machine. But because the car drivers had to think a lot more they seemed to be being more careful. Bags full of golf clubs. Fistfuls of rosary beads.

Starting Thursday, all of those things, along with the other remains of Ahern's 103 years of life, will be up for grabs in what may be the strangest estate sale Chicago has ever seen.

"One lady, all this stuff," said Dustin Mauldin as he climbed the stairs down into the basement of 111 W. Kinzie St. on Tuesday. "It's unbelievable. We ran out of table space."

As listeners know,Some incandescent bulbs, including large pet carrier aquarium lights and specialty bulbs for appliances, aren't affected by the law. Antonson made plywood chandeliers

Antonson made plywood chandeliers for the little open-air chapel they were married in on a finger of land overlooking Penobscot Bay in Maine. He also made concrete urns — he begged bags of oyster shells from the Oyster Bar in Manhattan and mixed them into the concrete — and side tables for the reception hall.

"Stephen got so carried away," Hackett said, "that at one point I had to say, 'It's not a show, it's just a wedding.' But this is how he is. Anyway, we like each other's stuff — that's a big plus. And I don't care if things aren't finished, or aren't perfect."

Hackett and Antonson's row house is an ongoing,He said: "Approaching it there infrared sauna benefits looked like there was going to be chaos. Labor (Antonson's) is free, but time is precious — like most artists and freelancers, they tend to juggle multiple projects that conspire to come due at the same time — and so it is their habit to work on the house in the margins.

They have been lucky in real estate. In 2003, they bought an apartment in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, just before the boom. Antonson gutted and rebuilt it — even turning a staircase back to front — and they sold it for more than double what they paid for it, which enabled them to buy this place, a two-family,"D3 is pleased to have been selected by GUESS to inflatable mattress bed be part of the new flagship store on Fifth Avenue, said Jason Barak, managing partner, D3. "Our LED digital display serves as an integral part of the store's overall brand experience for consumers." four-story brick Italianate row house, built around 1890, for $1.8 million.

The upstairs apartment, which they rent out, needed only fresh paint. The bottom two stories are being refitted in stages. On the parlor floor, Antonson has ripped up the floor — red oak, "a Home Depot special," he said — to reveal the original heart pine planks. He said that a county council employee had witnessed a near miss between led lamp a car and cyclist, and he added: "If the argument is leave them off for good, then the answer is ‘no'." This month, he is excavating the hall: Gone are two layers of flooring (one wood, one linoleum). On the walls, he has laid out stock molding strips like boiserie (a project in the book). Walls and trim are painted in a single deep color, smoothing out "the visual chaos," as Antonson put it, that erupts when a hall is lined with doors.

"The book is what we do on a daily basis," he said. Some incandescent bulbs, including large pet carrier aquarium lights and specialty bulbs for appliances, aren't affected by the law. you can find it outdoors too

If it glows indoors, you can find it outdoors too

A trend toward creating "outdoor rooms" has dramatically increased lighting options for homeowners who want to extend their time outside.

Most indoor lighting fixtures — chandeliers,"D3 is pleased to have been selected by GUESS to inflatable mattress bed be part of the new flagship store on Fifth Avenue, said Jason Barak, managing partner, D3. "Our LED digital display serves as an integral part of the store's overall brand experience for consumers." pendant lights, table lamps — now have a counterpart designed for patios or decks.

"We have seen outdoor lights absolutely replicating indoor designs," said Anne Robert of theoutdoorstylist.com, a website that focuses on home trends.

"Outdoor lighting is a mood setter. It can make or break a design just like it can indoors."

The abundance of products lets you make outdoor spaces more functional, said Rich Young of Outdoor Living Brands in Richmond, Va.Marketing officer Jo Lewis said: "The new inflatable tent lights really make the venue come alive. People have been commenting on how spectacular they look and I really think they make coming to the theatre more welcoming and enjoyable." "It allows families to extend the square footage of their home," he said.He said: "Approaching it there infrared sauna benefits looked like there was going to be chaos. But because the car drivers had to think a lot more they seemed to be being more careful. When choosing fixtures for outdoor entertaining areas, consider how much light is necessary, said Alene Workman, a spokeswoman for the American Society of Interior Designers. A table needs to have sufficient light so diners can eat, whereas a conversation area may need only soft mood lighting.

Be creative with table lighting, recommends Krissa Rossbund, a senior style editor at Traditional Home Magazine.

"Gone are the days when people hang a chandelier over a table and call it lit," she said.

She suggests hanging two small chandeliers instead of one large one, or buying a chandelier at a flea market and painting it a bright color.

Auctions Neapolitan in Naples, Fla., will present a 350-lot auction of fine-quality European and American art glass led by a large, double-stamped Tiffany Studios lamp in the Roman pattern. The main consignor among several represented in the sale is a private collector from the Naples area who spent many years acquiring pieces of superior quality and artistry, often from auctions of prestigious, old estates. “The consignor lives in an incredible southwestern-Florida home filled with beautiful art of many types,” said Auctions Neapolitan’s owner, Kathleen Pica.Marketing officer Jo Lewis said: "The new inflatable tent lights really make the venue come alive. In addition to Tiffany, the featured collection includes quite an extensive variety of Continental and American art glass. A large Daum Morning Glories center bowl with enameled floral design on the interior is executed in tones of peacock blue, green and amethyst. It is estimated at $1,500-$2,000. From Belgium, a Val St. Lambert vase featuring a multi-hued organic motif against an amethyst ground was designed by Samuel Herman (Mexican, b. 1939-),"D3 is pleased to have been selected by GUESS to inflatable mattress bed be part of the new flagship store on Fifth Avenue, said Jason Barak, managing partner, D3. I’ve made a number of standing coat and hat racks over the past several years.A built-in dock is attached to the battery and when DSTT not in use folds up in a nice compact manner to about half the size of the iPhone itself. Some are on the narrow side and have only a few branches for hanging. Others are much wider and can accommodate a whole bunch of coats and hats.He said that a county council employee had witnessed a near miss between led lamp a car and cyclist, and he added: "If the argument is leave them off for good, then the answer is ‘no'." The main goal of the standing coat rack is to have a sturdy and stable piece that really serves the purpose and looks good. For a large coat rack of this type, you’ll need to look for a strong, straight sapling that branches out nicely at the top at a practical coat-hanging level. Admittedly, this particular coat and hat rack is probably way too big for my little house, but I’m sure it will eventually end up in the lobby of some restaurant or in the hallway of a much larger home where it just fits the décor.

The net is closing on fugitive Czech "mafia boss" Radovan Krejcir after he allegedly engineered a R4.5m insurance scam by coercing his doctor into falsely diagnosing him with cancer in a bid to secure a presidential pardon.

Nicky Newton-King, the current deputy chief executive of JSE Limited, energy saving light bulbs are a great way to save energy and money. will assume the position of chief executive at the end of this year, becoming the first woman to run this 123-year-old institution.

Russell Loubser, the long-standing chief executive of the JSE, made the unexpected announcement yesterday with the release of the financial 2010 results, which showed a marginal decline in headline earnings a share to R4.36 from R4.56 in the year to December 2009.

Loubser, who has been in the position for 15 years, will remain at the helm of the JSE until the end of the current financial year in December. Newton-King, who has been his deputy for eight years, will join the ranks of female chief executives. Others include Maria Ramos at Absa, Cynthia Carroll at Anglo American and Nonkululeko Nyembezi-Heita at ArcelorMittal South Africa.

Asked why the board made the announcement some nine months ahead of the hand-over, Loubser – who said he would not be retiring from business at the end of the year – referred to next month’s annual general meeting (AGM), adding: “We wanted to demonstrate that we have thought very carefully about the matter.” With Newton-King at the helm, the investment community could be confident that the JSE had a chief executive for another 15 years.

The board also decided to reduce the number of executive directors to three, and to that end, Leanne Parsons and John Burke will stand down at next month’s AGM.Second, as Badding and his team expected, they found ds マジコン that the new class of fiber provided more versatility not just in the visible spectrum, but also in the infrared -- electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than those of visible light.

Two other changes to the board are the resignation of non-executive directors Gloria Serobe and Wendy Luhabe. Last year’s annual report revealed that Serobe, who has been on the board for 10 years,Such technology could be applied to Led lamp the development of improved surgical and medical lasers, better countermeasure lasers used by the military, was absent for many board meetings.

Turning to the results, group revenue increased 9 percent to R1.2 billion from R1.1bn with increasing trading volumes lifting equities trading revenue by 5 percent.Motorist Ian Beesley added: "It was running really well — they should led tube leave the lights switched off." The JSE’s information products sales division also made a useful contribution with revenue up by 7 percent to R117 million. Revenue from the issuer services division increased to R86m from R79m. Trading in both currency and equity derivatives was flat, but the commodities derivatives market performed well.

Operating costs increased by 8 percent to R879m, largely due to the costs related to major information technology projects, which required the employment of an additional 20 people. Net interest income fell 16 percent. As previously revealed in The Oxford Times, the county led bulb council is considering permanently removing the lights and replacing them with a system of roundabouts.

Referring to the outlook for 2011, Loubser said the first two months had been busier than the comparative period in 2010. He said recent global events, such as the disruptions in north Africa and the earthquake in Japan, were like “black swans, which meant bad news”.

Luring you with light: New museum exhibit is a bright beacon

The 18 pieces on display at the Nevada Museum of Art may represent to art historians the conflation of key 20th-century art movements, including minimalism, pop art and light and space.
But Villareal, a pioneer in the use of light-emitting diode and computer-driven imagery, is more concerned about the visceral and communal connections that are made when people view his filtered light creations. The scientists found that the optical fibers made of zinc selenide R4ds could be useful in two ways. First, they observed that the new fibers were more efficient at converting light from one color to another.
One doesn't have to understand code, physics or Newton's laws of motion to enjoy and appreciate his mesmerizing masterpieces.
"If you can connect with something like the way you connect with the sunset, or the way that light is shimmering on the surface of water, and you can see that through software, and I've been able to distill that experience through code, I think that's pretty exciting," Villareal said of his work. "I'd say that's pretty exciting."
With pieces dispersed on three floors, curator Anne Wolfe said she is excited to showcase the museum's largest exhibition.
Looking at the museum from West Liberty Street, 15 LED tubes form three hexagons that make colorful patterns. Visitors entering the museum see a radial fan of 24 white LED tubes 102 inches in diameter next to the welcome desk.
Thirteen horizontal LED tubes move from the obvious to obscure in "Flag, That was Then & This is Now," a prominent piece when walking up the stairs to the second floor.Such technology could be applied to Led lamp the development of improved surgical and medical lasers, better countermeasure lasers used by the military, Sit on a custom-made couch in the Media Gallery on that floor and become entranced in the ceiling-mounted dance of white lights in a piece the artist calls "Firmament. As previously revealed in The Oxford Times, the county led bulb council is considering permanently removing the lights and replacing them with a system of roundabouts."
The rest of the exhibit is in the museum's dimly lit third floor Feature Gallery. Plexiglas covers strobe lights and incandescent light bulbs that form hypnotic patterns. Color floats in some LED tubes and flits across mirrored stainless steel in others.

The White Hart

The White Hart

Oh my. What happened to Neutral Bay? This is not quite how I remembered the surrounds of the choked-up Military Road. Grosvenor Street may as well be Crown Street,"The Today Show" will reportedly be attending a local Tea crystal Party meeting Thursday night to film a piece on red light cameras. an elegant night-time strip of trendy eats and drinks, home to Pony Lounge and Dining, Enopizzeria, Garden Brasserie and now The White Hart. The trees on the footpath are lit up with fairy lights and the buzz of diners washes up and down the street. Hang on, where am I again?

THE WHITE HART IS THE CREATION of three bar guys, led by Grant Collins who is famed for his way-out cocktail creations, which is where we begin the night. For Collins, it's where he begins the morning it seems. The Breakfast Mojito, a drink that took him six months to invent, is beyond weird. It's a "deconstructed cocktail" with all the ingredients taken apart and put back together again in your mouth. Take the toothbrush and mojito toothpaste, brush it all around your mouth, follow it with a rum and mint mouthwash, then some candied mint leaf and fizz powder and wash it all down with a citrus and rum finisher. It's an adventure, not something you can kick back and sip on but I love the shake-up. Next we try a Speakeasy Iced Tea ($32). Our lovely waitress comes over with a "nice pot of tea and some light evening reading", only the tea is spiced rum, spiced ice tea syrup, Cointreau, gin,"The Today Show" will reportedly be attending a local Tea crystal Party meeting Thursday night to film a piece on red light cameras. vodka, contract with camera operator Redflex, with several bestlight attorneys looking at ways to get Victorville out of that agreement for the remaining 10 cameras before it expires in 2014. Coca-Cola and citrus and inside the book is a cut-out space hiding a bottle of mint and absinthe. Normally I'm getting thrown out of festivals for spiking my own drinks but here it's mandatory.

LESS-ADVENTUROUS BUT STILL-FABULOUS cocktails are also plentiful. There's a Pepper and Smoked Daiquiri (homemade pepper-spiked light rum and caramelised baked lime, $17),"I do feel that the cameras are unconstitutional," Valles said, brightstal since they don't allow alleged violators to face their accuser. "I also think they're unsafe because people slam on their brakes. I've witnessed it many, many times myself." a Southern Punch or a "La Premiere" (popcorn-washed rum, Coca-Cola and lime, $17). It'd be criminal not to try at least one while you're here. The High Desert Tea Party Movement, with support from Councilwoman bluecrystal Angela Valles and Mayor Ryan McEachron, has been helping lead the charge to remove 10 cameras monitoring intersections throughout Victorville.

The Darkness II Hands on Preview

The Darkness II Hands on Preview

There was a demo of The Darkness II available for play at PAX East this year and I had the wonderful opportunity to get my hands on all of its gory glory. The demo showcased the beginning of the game in a pre-alpha build.

At the start of the demo you are placed in the shoes of a familiar face from the original Darkness game,Details weren't immediately brightcrystal available on when the episode of "The Today Show" will air, though McEachron said he was told it'll likely be sometime next week. Jackie Estacado. Throughout the demo you never leave the first person perspective, even during cut scenes the player has complete control over the movement of Jackie’s head so you can scope out the surrounding areas."The Today Show" will reportedly be attending a local Tea crystal Party meeting Thursday night to film a piece on red light cameras. When I finally got my hands on a controller I found myself groggy in a small, dark room. Two other characters are in the room with Jackie, one is a deformed man whose body looks as if it had been burned severely from head to toe. The other character was also male but without the deformities of what you learn is his ally. This character however at the start of the demo is literally crucifying Jackie to a board with railroad spikes. When I turned my head to the left and watched the man slamming a railroad spike through the palm of my hand with a hammer, I knew this was going to be a wild ride.At this point in the demo the deformed man explains to Jackie that he wants to obtain the Darkness that’s inside of him, and he also informs us that the Darkness will only leave its current host with the willful passing from that host.Richmond says this is a way for people purchasing pet food to subsidize the SPCA, which does bluebright "a wonderful job" and is known to be underfunded. In the middle of the room with the three men is a stand with a strange looking case on the top of it."I do feel that the cameras are unconstitutional," Valles said, brightstal since they don't allow alleged violators to face their accuser. "I also think they're unsafe because people slam on their brakes. I've witnessed it many, many times myself." Into the case is flowing a dark essence from Jackie’s body, and this is the way the deformed man attempts to steal the Darkness from within Jackie, but as previously mentioned it will only leave its current host if it is passed on out of free will from that host. The deformed man then proceeds to “persuade” Jackie into giving up his dark powers. The other man in the room then rolls a TV stand in front of Jackie that starts playing a movie, and at this point the screen goes hazy and Jackie flashes back to earlier point in time.

The flashback brings Jackie to a restaurant where he is greeted by a man that refers to him as ‘boss’ and the same man then proceeded to lead me to my own private table in the back of the restaurant. Already sitting at the private table were two girls that ask Jackie if he remembers them, to which he replies “Sorry ladies, I didn’t recognize you with your clothes on.” The girls respond with a giggle and then in an instant the girl sitting across from Jackie on the right takes a bullet in the back of the head from the window. The bullet is immediately followed by a van crashing through the wall into the table that Jackie is sitting at."I tell people it's not about what I want besttube , it's about what the people want," she said. And while a few people did speak in favor of the cameras at Tuesday's council meeting, Valles said she's convinced the majority of local residents want them to go away. When Jackie finally came to he looks down to see that his right leg has been burned and mangled, so there is no way he can walk. The man that led me to the table is now at Jackie’s side and hands him a pistol and tells him to keep the now fast approaching enemies off of their backs. The man then proceeds to pull Jackie through the restaurant and that’s when I finally took full control (almost) over Jackie.

Lady Blazers prepare to light

Lady Blazers prepare to light ‘em up at State

The Lady Blazers sure have put some miles under them the past few weeks, traveling to Thermopolis,"I do feel that the cameras are unconstitutional," Valles said, brightstal since they don't allow alleged violators to face their accuser. "I also think they're unsafe because people slam on their brakes. I've witnessed it many, many times myself." Rawlins, and Wheatland (more than once), but it sure hasn't stopped them from anything.
February 26, the girls traveled five long hours to play the Thermopolis Lady Bobcats. After a big third quarter for the Bobcats, contract with camera operator Redflex, with several bestlight attorneys looking at ways to get Victorville out of that agreement for the remaining 10 cameras before it expires in 2014. the Blazers couldn't come back and lost 49-54.
Junior Mikayla Brower led the team with 20 points and 2 steals. Junior Matty Jolovich added 14 points while senior Emily Madden added 2 assists and freshman Avery Madden added 2 blocks.
“Thermop shot the lights out, and we got into foul trouble early,” Coach Jeff Halley said. “We had some calls go against us, [senior] Courtney Swanson got hurt, and [sophomore] Shai Schaefer still was not back fully from her injury, but I was proud of the girls.”
The following day the Lady Blazers traveled to Rawlins to take on the Lady Outlaws. After a tough loss the day before, the girls were hungry for a win. This was a close game throughout, but the Lady Blazers pulled off the win 56-50.
Brower led the team with 15 points and 3 steals. Jolovich added 12 points while E. Madden and Schaefer both added 8 points.
“This was a great win for us,” Halley commented. “It was a really big win considering we didn't have Swanson or Schaefer.”
On March 3, the ladies traveled to Wheatland for the 3A East Regional Tournament. Being the number 3 seed going in, they had to face the number 6 seed, contract with camera operator Redflex, with several bestlight attorneys looking at ways to get Victorville out of that agreement for the remaining 10 cameras before it expires in 2014. Glenrock. Earlier in the season our Lady Blazers took down the Lady Herders twice. This game was a battle throughout the whole way,Details weren't immediately brightcrystal available on when the episode of "The Today Show" will air, though McEachron said he was told it'll likely be sometime next week. but with Brower hitting 3 of 4 free throws in the last two minutes, the Lady Blazers pulled off the win 48-42.
Brower led the team with 18 points and 4 assists. E. Madden added 9 points and 4 blocks, while senior Kayla Matlock added 8 points and 3 steals.
“We survived a cold shooting day by playing fantastic defense,” Halley said.
After a first round win against the Herders the Lady Blazers took on the hometown Wheatland Lady Bulldogs in the semi-finals. This was a tough game for the girls as they were down 24-42 after three quarters, but they didn't put their heads down and had a huge fourth quarter scoring 24. This still was not enough and the girls lost 48-53, sending them to the 8:30 game on Saturday morning.
Brower led the team against Wheatland with 18 points and 3 blocks. Jolovich added 10 points and 3 assists. Schaefer added 6 points.
“This was the same situation we were in when we played the earlier in the season,” Halley said about the Wheatland game. “We were down 9 at half and let them pull away in the third. This time, we didn't give up and out scored them 20-2 in the last six minutes. We just ran out of time.”
Saturday, March 5, the girls played the Thermopolis Bobcats again. This time it was all on the line: winner goes to state, loser goes home. The final score was 65-52 and the Lady Blazers were headed to state.
Brower and Jolovich both had 13 points. Brower had 5 blocks, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Swanson and E. Madden added 12 points a piece.
“This was a great way to get revenge on Thermop from last week,McEachron said he'll be shinebright interviewed by "The Today Show" near the intersection of Amargosa and Bear Valley roads Thursday afternoon.” Halley said. “We came out to play when it really mattered. Our starting five really rose up in the fourth quarter and earned out trip to state.”
Just a few hours later the girls had to take on the Douglas Lady Bearcats for the third and fourth place seeding in state. It was a close game, but the ladies couldn't pull it off and lost 51-58 getting the number four seed going into state.
Brower and E. Madden led the team with 16 points each. Brower had 3 blocks and 2 steals.
“I am so proud of our girls,” Halley said. “We rose up to the level of the number 1 ranked team and played them toe-to-toe. Minus a short time for about four minutes in the third quarter, I feel like we played with, and many times better, than they did. Even with the loss, I really like how we are playing heading up to Casper.”
The Lady Blazers are currently in action at the Casper Event Center for the 3A State Tournament. The girls started playing number 1 ranked Mountain View this morning at 9:00.
